v0.2 Build 42 (9th July 2023)

First release of the new updated back-end API with some usability improvements listed below.

  • Back-end – Complete re-write of server back-end, a huge amount of work has been put into porting to a new database architecture and a complete re-write of the APIs used to communicate between the server and the app. This massively increases the speed of synchronisation by 10x+. It also allows for much more flexibility in providing sharing and analytics functionality going forward (new features will be released in due course). Faster sync speed allows for many more scorecards to be shared to a wider group of people with minimal/no drop-off in speed and space utilisation on the server.
  • New feature: Group Sharing – You can now manage which groups you’re a member of, and you can also join groups of your own volition. Sharing can be set via the existing tag system, or date range.
  • New feature: User Registration – Users can now register from the login page using their email address.
  • New feature: Multiple scorecard updates – You can now change details of scorecards en-masse – just select multiple scorecards in the Scorecard screen, and modify details of firearms, ammo, tags etc. in one go. This enables you to modify details in your earlier scorecards, for if you wish to apply tags retrospectively so they are shared with team captains etc.
  • Targets: 800yd ICRFA target added
  • UI Update: Profile appearance update – The ‘My Profile’ tab has been made more pleasing to the eye with some icons and buttons. More to come.
  • UI Improvement: Login update status – Number of scorecards and progress is now indicated to give you an idea of what is going on.
  • UI Improvement: Wind and elevation graphs always move to the optimal position when you load a scorecard.
  • Scorecard Metadata: Excluded scorecards – There is now an option that allows you to exclude scorecards from data analysis and sharing, allowing you to log ammo testing and other activity.
  • User profile updates: Existing users will be requested for additional data upon first log-in such as shooting class, county, country etc, as well as an updated Privacy Policy which must be acceped to use Tracer.
  • Bug fix: Tag display – Sometimes tags appeared half off-screen in landscape mode, and when the display orientation was changed. This has now been fixed.
